As most people my skin is very unpredictable and can sometimes be very high maintenance. I don’t really have a skincare routine because the products I use depend on how my skin is acting, however these are the products I’ve been reaching for as of late.
To start off my skincare I always take my makeup off with my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which has been a holy grail of mine since I first starting using it almost 2 years ago. It takes my makeup off perfectly and leaves my skin feeling fresh and squeaky clean. I’ve kept this product in my skincare for so long because I’ve used it when I’ve had good and bad skin so I know its works for me.
Recently my skin has been quite breakout prone so my skincare consists of a lot of products to tailor to that. After I take my makeup off I’ll usually do a face mask if my skin is acting up, and my absolute favourite is the Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Charcoal Face Mask. I won’t go into too much detail on this product as I’ve already done a full review here, but it works extremely well for my skin if I have a few blemishes.
If my skin isn’t too bad and I don’t need to use a face mask another product I’ve been loving is the No.7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser. This is quite a strange product to use and doesn’t do what its supposed to but I still love it. You’re meant to lather it onto you’re face and then place the hot cloth included on top of you’re face to feel like you’re getting a facial, although whenever I do this the cloth turns cold instantly so it’s not much of a hot cloth cleanser. Instead I just leave the cold cloth on my face for about two minutes and then I use the cloth to wipe off the excess product and rinse the rest off with water. It leaves the skin feeling incredibly soft and gives the skin a bright and fresh appearance, which I would highly recommend to use the night before an event.
For moisturiser lately I’ve been using the Botanics Hydrating Day Cream with brightening hibiscus. I haven’t been using it for too long and I’ve haven’t been using it everyday but when I do I really like it. It’s very liquidy and runny but its glides onto the skin, dries very fast, and does give the appearance of brighter skin. I usually only use this when my skin is feeling a bit dry and dull.
And last but not least we have my go-to spot treatments. I have three that are my holy grails for blemishes I know I can count on to do their thing and work fast. My No.1 is the Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Spot Wand which I’ve been using for years and years at this stage. It’s a dual ended wand, one for daytime and one for nightime, that you just apply directly onto your blemish. Tea Tree and Witch Hazel is the best ingredient for my skin and blemishes which is why I also love the face mask. This wand helps heal my skin and dimish the appearance of a blemishes, and better yet its only €5. I can’t even tell you how many of these I’ve gone through it really is my skincare staple.
My other holy grail is the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate which I’ve had for over a year and a half and it’s still a must have. I purchased it in Paris in 2014 because I heard so many amazing things about it and it definitely lived up to the hype. It’s great to use as an all over face oil to rejuvenate the skin overnight but it’s also and amazing spot treatment. This is best for those nasty breakouts and those that lurk under the skin, and it’s very fast acting. And finally we have the Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Control Gel, also amazing at getting rid of those pesty sore blemishes. I also have a full review here if you want to know more about this product.
So those are my current Skincare favourites and must haves, although who knows how long it will be until they change again!
Hope you’re having an amazing week,
