TRAVEL DIARY: PARIS – DAY 1

DSC_0020

Last week I went to Paris as my birthday present from last year, finally! My boyfriend surprised me with the trip for my 21st birthday back in August so the excitement was killing me. I had the most amazing time as Paris is one of those cities I will never get sick of, and I already can’t wait to go back.

We went for three and a half days so I planned to fit a lot in. The weather was very cold and very wet while we were there but we didn’t let that stop us, although my lips wouldn’t agree because they were very chapped. Our flight was at 6.50am in the morning and we landed at around 9.30 so we had the whole day ahead of us. We got a taxi to the hotel, freshened up and by 11 we were ready to take on the day. We stayed at the Hotel Elysée Union which had the most amazing location 5 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe and 15 minutes from the Éiffel Tower.

This day we just strolled around so I didn’t take too many photos as I just wanted to soak up the city. It was dry this day thankfully but it was still very very cold and windy. We mostly walked around the Champs Elysées and had a bit of a mooch around the shops, so course I popped into Sephora which I will be doing a haul of very soon. We walked around the Éiffel Tower and then went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner, when it started snowing! It didn’t last very long but I had a look out the hotel window and it was snowing, which was very surreal as I haven’t seen snow in years let alone in Paris.

For dinner we went to Cafe Kléber which wasn’t too far from our hotel, and I just got a chicken burger and a mojito of course, with a chocolate crépe for dessert.  The food was lovely and it was such a cute french restaurant with traditional french decor and big awning outside, which I love! After dinner we just strolled around the city and went back to the Éiffel Tower because one of my favourite things about Paris is when the Éiffel Tower sparkles at night so I had to make sure I didn’t miss it. I was extremely tired this day because I only got 2 hours sleep the night before so we just headed back to the hotel to get ready for an early start the next day to see more of Paris. Stay tuned for the next few days!

Hope you’re having a great day so far,
