For my birthday in August I was lucky enough to receive a new DSLR camera from my family as a gift, so when Christmas came I thought I would expand my collection with this Sigma 70-300mm Macro Lens.
My camera came with a standard 18-55mm lens like most cameras which is great, however when it comes to close up shots and outdoor photos a zoom lens is ideal. During the summer whilst I was on holidays I woke up for the sunrise several mornings to take some photos, and my camera just wouldn’t get me close enough to capture the detail. Since then I’ve been on the look-out for a good zoom lens and Sigma are one of the best in the business.
I can’t wait to go out and test my new lens in the woods or even for blog posts and product shots. I still have a lot to learn about photography but I’m excited to improve my skills. Also this lens will be perfect for my trip to Paris in March to capture the beauty that is Paris!
In order to compare both lens’ I sat in the same place and zoomed in as far as each lens would let me, and it’s safe to say I can go a lot further with my Sigma lens. The focus on the Sigma lens is incredible as well as its depth of field.
It’s also a lot bigger than the 18-55mm in length!
Hope you’re having a great week,
