FIRST IMPRESSION: RIMMEL WAKE ME UP FOUNDATION

DSCN3117

Rimmel is one of my favourite drugstore brands of all time but I don’t actually have any of their foundations. I used a foundation of theirs a few years ago which they don’t even stock anymore, but apart from that I’ve got zilch. And I’ve always wanted to try the infamous Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation after all the good reviews I’ve seen online, so when my local Boots had it €4 cheaper I thought nows my chance.

Unfortunately I’m not a fan of this foundation. Immediately this was the wrong colour for me when I applied it,  and I got the shade Ivory which is the lightest colour in the collection and it was still too dark! It was very orangey on my skin which doesn’t suit my skin-tone at all, however I did keep it on my face to judge the foundation as a foundation and not for the colour. When I first applied the foundation it sat nicely on my face and I was hopeful it would impress me, but the longer I wore it the more I disliked it.

Not only was the colour wrong it went all patchy on my face, it clung to my dry patches and it didn’t give any dewy look as the bottle states (anti-fatigue effect and radiant glow). All in all I was very disappointed with this foundation after all the good reviews I’ve seen online but it just goes to show it all depends on your skin type. I still love their lip and eye products but I think ill be staying away from their foundations in the future.
