I don’t know about you, but I always get really dry lips during the winter and no amount of lip balm or vaseline will change that. However it does mean I know a thing or two about which products actually work on chapped lips. So in preparation for the cold winter months ahead (well here in Ireland anyway), I thought I’d show you how to make a lip scrub from ingredients you can just find in your home. I didn’t buy anything for any of this, and usually homemade organic skincare products are better for your skin because they are not mass-produced.
And it is incredibly easy to make as well! All you need is 3 ingredients:
White or Brown Sugar
Take all your 3 ingredients and mash them together in a bowl, and voila its as simple as that! If you want to make a small amount I would recommend a teaspoon of each ingredient, but if you’re making a large amount then just make sure you use the same amount for each product. Although if you want it to be quite grainy I would reccomend using less coconut oil as it can make it a bit liquidy but it’s all down to your personal preference.
Then just pop it into any small jar you have lying around and you’re done. This is the smallest jar I could find in my house, but once you can get your fingers to the bottom of it it’ll do. This can also be a great DIY gift this holiday season too! If you think it looks rather boring or bland, just add some berries or the juice of berries to add some colour or flavour. Hopefully this will keep your lips chap free this winter.
